Portsmouth’s leading Pharmacy is supporting the NHS campaign for people to be immunised against the severe flu that is predicted for the UK this winter.
All branches of Lalys Pharmacy have been included in services across the city offering flu vaccines to help people stay well over the winter months.
‘We want people to know that we are able to administer flu jabs to take some of the pressures of surgeries and medical centres,’ says Mr Laly. ‘We offer the service free of charge to people who qualify and at a cost of £7.00 for those who feel they would like it as a precaution.’
Lalys Pharmacies are located on Kingston Road in Fratton, London Road in North End, Fawcett Road in Southsea and in the city centre at 1 Guildhall Walk.
Those who are eligible for free flu jabs include people who are
- aged 65 years or over
- have serious, long-term medical conditions or weakened immune systems
- living in long-stay residential care homes or care facilities
- are caring for an elderly or disabled person who may be at risk if they fall ill
‘At Christmas time, when a lot of people are visiting family, socialising and spending time with loved ones of all ages, some people feel more at ease having taken the precaution,’ says Mr Laly. ‘We are more than happy to help anyone who would feel more relaxed in the knowledge they had been vaccinated.’
